C-SPAN DURING THE PLATFORM COMMITTEE MEETINGS AUGUST 20 TO 21, 2012 BEGINNING AT 8:00 an EST.
Also televised will be the Standing Committee on Rules as part of the RNC Summer Meeting at 1pm on August 22, 2012 where the Virgin Islands will be represented by Lilliana Belardo de O’Neal. Resolutions from this meeting will then go to the Convention Rules Committee which has the final word in adopting the Republican Party’s National Rules.
We will be represented on the Convention Rules Committee meetings by two VI delegation memebers: Gwen Hall Brady and Warren”Bruce” Cole, Esq. These meetings begin on August 24th at 8:00am.
Other delegates will begin arriving for pre-convention meetings such as the Credentials Meeting on August 24th. VI Members of this Committee are Delegate Max Schanfarber and V.I. National Committeewoman Liliana Belardo de’Oneal.
Other Delegates, Alternates, and Guests are expected to arrive on Saturday August 25, 2012. There is a major kick off Welcoming Event planned for them at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg during the evening of the 26th with the opening session of the Republican National Convention beginning on Monday August 25, 2012 to the completion on August 30, 2012.
John Clendenin was chosen by our delegates to be the chairman of the Virgin Islands delegation. We will attempt to provide both live audio/video feeds as well as chatroom exchanges via Facebook and Skype with Virgin Islanders who wish to keep in contact during this process.
